Sveriges Radio Play App Reviews

Very good!

The review is only for the current version (4.0.1) and only addresses design issues as well as the platform iPad: The application had a beautiful icon before switching to black. Actually, its not the color, its the quality (compression of the icon) as well as the shaded "e" and "a" at left and right side of the icon. I understand that you try to stay in sync with the online platform redesign. Im not a designer but Im very sure this is was a unlucky decision. Last but not least: the application does not start aka early crashes on iPads (at least mine). Although the iPad is not yet released in Sweden the developers should have tested the most popular if not all platforms. Its also easy to run simple tests of the app in the Simulator. Please reset the style of the icon if not the color and test it to run on iPads. Overall I like the app and liked it from the start. It had constant improvements until this "small" update.

Bra version 1

This app now works as it should: good. I can find all my favs, Melodikrysset, Ring så spelar vi, etc, as well as listen live to everything Sveriges Radio broadcasts. A plus is that the interface has been simplified and, may I say, beautified as well. All in all, this is one of those must-have-apps.

I used to put forth great effort to pull in these excellent radio shows (including English language) via a 30 foot wire antenna & shortwave radio. To listen now on a clear stream mobile app is nothing short of amazing! Thank you Radio Sweden, for the great programming and super app!

Ver 2 adds favorites. Still to improve is many buttons to push before anything plays. Looking forward to be able to listen to "Sommar" Easy to find a program. Works fine on 3G. In next release I wish for a favorite setting.

The app is much better now! Havent crashed on my iPhone 4. The app needs to support Retina display. That is, icons & other UI need a facelift! Previous review: The app is crashing everytime I go to the Program page. Everything feels too clunky and the app is certainly not using the iOS platform in its entity to deliver a pleasant usage of the app.

BUT the app does crash at times or refuses from time to time to play while the iPhone goes to sleep - specifically with programs. Having CLEAR playlists ACCESSIBLE - a must for non-Swedish speakers - would be the next step. Congratulations on having many more programs available. KEEP GOING!

Lunchekot is still stuck on the September 2 broadcast, even though today it is the 17th. Been like this through the two last versions of the app. Worked MUCH better about 6 months ago!!!

Men VARFÖR finns inte morgonpasset med musik längre? Inte en jingel, ingenting! Försöker ni ta kol på oss utlandssvenskar?

In must have been the stupidest move ever, the app has been renamed to simply Play. Really? No more SR, Swedish Radio, or Sveriges Radio? Why only super generic Play that a dozen other apps also uses? It confuses me, iOS and Siri. Really stupid change.

Helt oacceptabelt att appen inte roterar Automatiskt i slutet av 2020. Sista mars 2022, ny uppdatering stöder fortfarande inte liggande läge!!!! Liggande läge är det som man använder mest på en tablet

Väldigt mycket problem med att spela upp AirPlay

Älskar sr appen, men undrar varför man ej kan ladda ner prgm som "välkommen till Sverige"? Här finns bara alternativet "lyssna". Jag är inte intresserad att höra musiken och undrar då varför inte alternativet "lyssna utan musik" finns på flera av programmen? Det borde även finnas något annat smidigt sätt a ge feed back på poddarna då det händer rätt ofta att de ej fungerar.

Jag är ett stort fan av Sveriges radio! Appen fungerar väldigt bra men den automatiska ljud/volym regleringen kommer göra mig döv. Helt plötsligt höjs volymen till absolut högsta. Inte så bra med tanke på att radio just går ut på att lyssna. Jag är 25 år och skulle gärna behålla min hörsel några år till.. Förutom detta en väldigt bra app!

Uppdatering 2011-04-29 Sedan den senaste uppdateringen fungerar appen urdåligt. Uppspelningen haltar ofta och när man tar emot ett samtal tappar den kollen. Skulle gärna gå tillbaka till den tidigare versionen. Kraschar på min iphone 4 när jag tar emot ett samtal eller hoppar i ett nedladdat program, men innehållet är bra så jag behåller programmet på telefonen i alla fall. Skulle dock gärna betala $5 för ett program som fungerar!

Väldigt nöjd med nya versionen som kan spela i bakgrunden! Har längtat efter denna funktion länge! Tyvärr kraschar också den här nyaste versionen när man går till programmenyn på iphone 4. Snälla laga!

De nya direktkanalerna fungerar oklanderligt. På de stora hela en mycket bra fungerande app. Jag tycker personligen inte om den nya favorit funktionen, mest för att det verkar inte som om man kan välja en hel kategori som förr (i mitt fall ekonyheter) utan bara enskiljda program.
